Friday’s Ask Storm Team 11 question comes from Howell Wiseman. He asked, “Who said that no two snowflakes are the same and how can they prove it?”
Wilson Bentley was one of the first people to suggest no two snowflakes are exactly alike. He took more than 5,000 pictures of snowflakes.
Each snowflake takes at least slightly different path to the ground encountering different temperatures and moisture levels. These weather conditions give the ice crystals on a snowflake a unique shape, especially on the microscopic level.
