Storm Team 11 Forecast:

Our eastern counties in southwest Virginia along the mountains down to Boone are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch through the evening hours. That’s the best chance of a severe storm pulsing up with gusty winds and hail possible. Otherwise, scattered storms continue until sunset or so. Low: 56

Partly cloudy skies Saturday with a couple thundershowers possible, especially in the mountains. Chance of rain: 20%. High: 81

Passing clouds Saturday night. Low: 59

Sun and clouds for Sunday with hit or miss storms. There’s a 50 percent chance of rain. High: 79

It will be cooler but comfortable start to the workweek with temperatures in the low 50s Monday morning and highs in the mid 70s, which is a few degrees below average. Monday night and early Tuesday will be the coolest. As of now, lows are expected to be in the 40s to near 50.

Tuesday should be dry as well before moisture returns mid to late week.
