Storm Team 11 Forecast:
After record rainfall Friday, an upper level low will move right over us today giving us a 70 percent chance of off and on showers. Rain will be lighter but plenty of it will be around. It will be cloudy and cold otherwise. Temperatures will stay in the 40s. We will see some snow showers in the higher elevations, especially over 4,000 feet. Peaks on Roan, Beech, and Sugar Mountain could get a dusting to a couple inches of snow.
We will keep the cloudy skies and some scattered showers around tonight mixed with some snow flurries perhaps. Lows will be near 40 degrees.
Easter Sunday will start off chilly and mainly dry. A stray shower is possible. Cloudy skies in the morning will give way to slow clearing in the afternoon from west to east. Skies are expected to become partly cloudy by mid to late afternoon. Temperatures should max out near 60 late in the day. However, if clouds don’t clear out soon enough we could stay in the 50s or, in turn if the sun comes out sooner, we could climb a little more.
Mostly clear skies Sunday night with lows in the lower 40s.
A decent amount of sun is expected Monday as daytime highs climb up to around 76 degrees.
Aside from a passing shower Tuesday or Wednesday, there’s a better chance of some scattered showers later in the week.
