THE STORM TEAM 11 FORECAST
A quick warm-up is coming today as winds shift to the south. A southerly wind along with some sunshine will give an added boost to the temperatures today. Strong south winds continue Thursday, with even warmer conditions along with windy conditions. A high wind threat will increase over the Blue Ridge Mountains and foothills of E TN and SW VA as winds accelerate down the steep terrain Thursday afternoon and evening. Winds could gust over 50 mph to 60 mph at times, increasing the potential for downed trees and powerlines. High wind threat diminshes Friday.
Rain will be around Friday morning, with good chance for rain early in the day. Cooler weather conditions will follow Friday night and into the weekend, with even a few mountain flurries possible Saturday.
Morning: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with temperatures in the mid to upper 30’s.
Afternoon: Partly to mostly cloudy with upper 60’s Tri-Cities, upper 50’s in the mountains.
