This is the last day of this late May heat wave before we enjoy cooler changes this weekend. Temperatures will be back into the upper 80’s with another breezy day. A storm threat increases this evening into early tonight with a few scattered showers and storms moving into the region. Main severe threat will stay north of the Tri-Cities, although there is a small potential for a few strong storms, with the best location over eastern and southeastern areas of Kentucky during the afternoon, with the storm threat shifting into the Tri-Cities this evening into the overnight hours.
End of Week
A weather system Friday will increase our chance for rain along with driving in some cooler conditions. Scattered showers and a few storms will be around in the morning, with additional rain developing during the day. The rain threat will end Friday night, setting us up for a nice start to the weekend.
Saturday looks mainly dry with seasonable temperatures in the low to mid 80’s. Another cold front arriving Sunday means another decent chance for scattered showers and storms during the day.
