Storm Team 11 Forecast:
We are already seeing scattered showers across the area this morning. There is an 80% rain chance in the forecast today with thunderstorms possible. A few of these storms could be on the strong to severe side, as parts of our area are under a marginal, or level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather today. Today’s high is 74 degrees.
Tonight we will hold onto an 80% chance for showers and storms. Rain does look to be locally heavy late tonight and into the overnight hours.
Rounds of rain continue into Sunday as well. Tomorrow the marginal risk for severe weather expands to include more of the Tri-Cities area. Heavy downpours, damaging winds and hail will be the main threats with tomorrow’s storms. High: 73. Localized flooding is going to be a concern this weekend, as 1-3″ of rainfall is likely from today through Monday. Remember, never drive through flooded roadways.
Rain showers even linger into Monday with a 50% rain chance. Temperature readings will be cooler for the start of the workweek with highs in the mid 60s and morning lows in the mid 40s.
Drier conditions return after Monday with just a 30% chance for scattered showers and storms Thursday.
