Storm Team 11 Forecast:
We saw scattered showers as a well as a few thunderstorms today. As a result of abundant cloud cover and steady rain across the area during the middle part of the day, tonight’s chance for severe weather is diminishing. There is still a 70% rain chance tonight with a few strong to severe storms possible. If you do get stuck with a thunderstorm, the main threats will be heavy downpours, damaging winds and hail. Our rain chance decreases as the night goes on, with drier conditions expected overnight. Tonight’s low is 56 degrees.
We will hold onto a 30% chance for scattered showers tomorrow, with a slight chance for an isolated thunderstorm. There will be breaks of sunshine tomorrow with clearing skies late. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.
Wednesday and Thursday are looking pleasant with partly sunny to mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Rain showers return late Thursday night ahead of our next weather maker which will move in on Friday. There is a 50% chance for scattered showers and storms Friday. We could see downsloping winds on Friday, which could potentially limit some of the rain here in the Tri-Cities. We will keep a close eye on this forecast.
Finally, another system is possible on Sunday, but models are still in disagreement about timing and available moisture. Stay with us as the details become clearer!
Have a great night!
