Mark's Weather Blog: Cold with snow showers tonight. Rain and snow this weekend.

Wednesday, March 7, 2018 -

Some woke up to snow showers this morning while others had a little light rain and snow flurries.

Storm Team 11 Weather Watcher Kenneth Pearsall at 4,100 fet on Roan Mountain, TN reported 3 inches of snow this afternoon.

It was a chilly day across the Tri-Cities.

Take a look at these photos that were sent to News Channel 11 today.

We will keep the chance of light snow and snow flurries in the forecast tonight and tomorrow.  Take a look at the Storm Team 11 Forecast maps;

8 PM Tonight - Cloudy skies are in the forecast with possible snow flurries.

5 AM Thursday - Our next wave of moisture moves into the area with a chance of light snow and snow flurries.  Temperatures will be in the low to middle 20's.

10 AM Thursday - We keep the snow flurries and light snow in the forecast.

3 PM Thursday - Clouds and scattered flurries are forecast for the area.

Some of the higher elevations could pick up and easy inch of snow late tonight into early tomorrow.  The blue colors represent the best chance for a light snowfall accumulation.

Friday looks nice with plenty of sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures.

8 AM Saturday - Clouds are back with a chance of rain Saturday.

We will have a better chance of rain on Sunday with a high near 52 degrees.  There could be a little bit of a wintry mix late Saturday and early Sunday.

We keep this cool pattern into next week.
