The Washington County Commissioner rejected funding “scheme six,” a plan to renovate and expand Jonesborough Middle School to K-8.

The resolution was met with a 0-13 vote Monday night.

Director of Schools Bill Flanery says the commission has exercised the only authority it has, to fund the project or decline to fund the project.

Flanary tells News Channel 11 that the school board will now need to discuss a path going forward.

The school board will meet again on June 6.
