People in Carter County rallied in full force this morning to clean up a Roan Mountain road heavily affected by illegal dumping.

Keep Carter County Beautiful Director Ed Jordan tells News Channel 11 over 35 people showed up today to clean up Teaberry Road.

According to Jordan, the clean up took three hours and volunteers were able to fill three 40-yard roll-off dumpsters with trash.

Jordan said the following in an email to News Channel 11.

“Thanks to Benny Lyons for providing the dumpsters and having them in place today.  We are so grateful that our county volunteer citizens and county officials, Commissioners Hill, Woodby & Ward are jumping on board to “Keep Carter County Beautiful”.   Together we can make a difference!”
