VA Dept. of Corrections offender who walked off Nottoway work site was convicted in Scott County

The Virginia Department of Corrections is looking for an offender who walked away from a Richmond-area work site Monday.

Jason Michael Day, 38, was convicted in Scott County of possession with intent to distribute. He was expected to be released on July 11, 2020. 

Day walked away from a greenhouse work unit at Nottoway Work Center in Burkeville, Virginia, according to VDOC.

The VDOC is working with Virginia State Police and local law enforcement to track him down. 

WRIC reports Day was last seen at about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday in Meherrin. He was seen wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans.

Day is believed to be headed west on the train tracks away from Nottoway County. 

If you see this man, do not approach him. You are asked to call 911 immediately.
