UPDATE: Dump truck carrying trailer crashes, cause of US 11-E shutdown near Telford

A dump truck carrying a trailer ran off the road and crashed, causing a shutdown on a section of US 11E near Telford Monday evening, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. 

According to a crash report, Timothy Vonglis, 53, of Greeneville, TN, was driving a dump truck carrying a 24-foot utility trailer loaded with a backhoe.

While driving around a curve, the dump truck ran off the highway and the trailer disconnected. The dump truck came to a stop in the northbound lane. The trailer came to a stop in the median.

Vonglis was injured and was taken to Johnson City Medical Center. 

According to THP, charges are pending in the crash.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt.
