Tree strikes home in Carter County

Multiple trees strike Carter County home

Wind damage caused power outages across Carter County and caused a tree to hit home on Gap Creek Road.

The home was damaged from fallen trees, according to the Hampton Volunteer Fire Department.

The home is located at the 2100 block of Gap Creek Road.

The mother and daughter in this family of four were the only ones home when they realized they had to get out fast.

Emily Carnahan, the daughter, tells us she was running to get her shoes when they heard the second tree falling.

Both the mother and daughter were able to make it out of the home OK.
