It was a reunion David Wampler and Captain Jarrod Salyer won’t ever forget.
The Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office posted to their Facebook page about a recent get-together between the two.
According to the post, Wampler was the victim of a gunshot wound and Captain Salyer with the department was able to apply a tourniquet to restrict blood loss.
The post says doctors were unable to save Mr. Wampler’s arm but made mention that without the application of the tourniquet, Mr. Wampler would most likely have bled to death.
“Many times citizens do not hear the brave stories of our men and women but we are proud of Captain Salyer and appreciate Mr. Wampler coming forward with his story,” the office shared on their Facebook post.
