Police search for driver who crashed into gas station near Elizabethton airport

ELIZABETHTON, TN (WJHL) – Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that reportedly crashed into the Roadrunner Market across from the Elizabethton Airport on Highway 91 on Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m. 

No one was reportedly hurt. Elizabethton firefighters were also called to the scene.  

Witnesses said a white Mazda car pulled into the parking lot, accelerated, and went through the glass of the gas station. 

Glass from the shattered window was scattered throughout the building. The gas station has an attached restaurant and that is where the collision happened. 

Police say they have the tag information of the car and they are currently searching for the car and its driver.  

Police say the driver will face multiple charges including vandalism and leaving the scene of a crash.
