Police: Man uses social media to solicit 12-year-old for sex

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL)- A man is facing charges after an undercover operation by the Bristol Tennessee Police Department caught him trying to solicit sex from a  minor online. 

According to police, 21-year-old Charles Michael Iman was charged with one count of Solicitation of a minor to commit rape of a child. 

An investigation revealed Inman contacted someone who he believed was a 12-year-old on social media. 

Police said he then began private messaging that child asking for sexual intercourse. 

In reality, Iman was messaging a detective assigned to investigate cyber crimes against children. 

Detectives met Inman and took him into custody. 

He is being held in the Sullivan County Jail on a $10,000 bond. 

An investigation is ongoing as authorities are looking into further communication between Inman and other underage children.
