2019 National Police Week continues with Peace Officers’ Memorial Day today, May 15.

Congress established the week honoring law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty in a joint resolution in 1962.

A memorial service is held each year in Washington D.C. where thousands of law enforcement officers travel to each year.

The 38th annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service will be held on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. and will begin at 11 a.m.
