Multiple Greene County fire crews responding to fire at packaging company

(UPDATE) 5:45 p.m. – Firefighters on scene told News Channel 11 Monday evening the fire at a packaging plant is now out.

Firefighters were in the process of moving pallets around and making sure the fire did not rekindle.

Volunteer firefighters in Greene County have been called to a fire at a packaging plant off Twin Barns Road.

According to emergency management director Bill Brown, the fire started about 4 p.m. at Dakota Packaging Solutions.

Brown said wooden pallets outside the business caught on fire.

Brown said when it comes to threats to nearby homes, he doesn’t “know of any as of yet.”
