LEE COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) – News Channel 11 has learned the Lee County Hospital Authority will hold an emergency meeting June 4.

The meeting notice, posted on the hospital authority’s Facebook page, read “The Lee County Hospital Authority will hold an emergency meeting of its Special Committee Tuesday, June 4th at 3:30 PM at the Office of Diana Pope, CPA.”

According to Jeff Mitchell, the attorney for the authority, the meeting was called to grant Ballad Health the authority to enter the building and start working on renovations and repairs to the facility.

This work will be started before the final documents are finished.

The post goes on to say, “We hope you can make it out to this meeting to have your support and hear the latest from the Authority!”

Just weeks ago, those with the Lee County Rescue Squad noticed a sign had been posted outside the hospital that read, “Future Home of the new Lee County Community Hospital.”
