Johnson City recognizes April as Parkinson’s awareness month

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL)- Friday morning city leaders gathered at Memorial Park Community Center to officially proclaim April as Parkinson’s awareness month.

Johnson City Mayor Jenny Brock read the proclamation as a way to raise awareness for the incurable disease that impacts 1.5 million Americans.

The Memorial Park Community Center in Johnson City offers an exercise class called “delay the disease.”

They also help connect people with support groups from across the Tri-Cities.
