Grayson County man wins $100,000 from lottery game

A Grayson County, Va. man says he “feels pretty awesome” after winning $100,000 from a Virginia Lottery game.

According to the Virginia Lottery, Danny Delp of Independence had cashed in winning tickets totaling in $21. He used part of that money to buy two 10X the Money tickets.

He won the game’s $100,000 top prize.

“It feels pretty awesome!” Delp said. “I was in complete shock.”

Proceeds from the Virginia Lottery program goes back to K-12 public schools in the Commonwealth. According to the Virginia Lottery, more than $1.6 million per day is generated from ticket sales. 

During the last fiscal year, Grayson County received more than $1 million in Lottery funds for public education.
