Food City stores offering help to rescued dogs in Bristol, Va.

Local Food City stores are partnering to give back to pets in the region.  

A spokesperson with the Euclid Avenue store in Bristol, Virginia tells News Channel 11 that stores have raised over $5,500 in dog and cat food.  

The stores say they are pushing for new donations after the recent news of nearly 40 dogs having to be rescued in Bristol.

Staff with the Euclid store tells us they were able to donate the food yesterday to the shelter the dogs are currently housed.

The dogs are expected to make a full recovery and will soon be available for adoption. You can still help out by donating to local Food City stores.
