News Channel 11 was on scene.

Tuesday afternoon Kristen Gallant spoke with Mike Street, the owner of Mike’s Auto Repair.

He said he lost his business in that fire.

“Smoke just coming out of that end bay right there. When I opened that door it must have fed air in according to the fireman and that’s when it all went up in smoke in just a matter of minutes,” said Mike Street.

Mike and his gandson were working in the garage earlier that day.

“We got a call of a fully involved garage fire with multiple cars on fire and possibly a another structure. There was a lot of small explosion and stuff going off when we got here. We had Watauga, Central, West Carter, Hampton, and Stoney Creek,” says Jackie Cable, the Assistant Chief for Stoney Creek Fire Department.

The home behind the garage

also belongs to mike. He rents it out and just put a fence up to give renters more privacy. That fence is now gone and the siding of the home is melted. The fire department turning off the power in the home just to be safe.
Mike is just grateful that no one was injured in the flames.
“Not a soul, not even a dog. Well you see my dog, that was the garage dog right there. It wasn’t about to stay around. Thank goodness for Stoney Creek and Hampton, Central. I’ve never seen so many fire people. Bless their hearts. The good Lord been with me son. I’m telling ya.”

The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
