Train lovers from across the region came together to celebrate Johnson City’s rich railroad heritage today.
East Tennessee State University’s George L. Carter Railroad Museum hosted the fourth annual “Big Train Show” over the past two days.
Organizations say this is the biggest year yet for the exhibit, bringing in more than 60 vendors, 300 tables and hundreds of train enthusiasts.
Between collectible trains and memorabilia for sale, model train demonstrations and learning about the region’s rich history, organizers say they want people to take a step in the past.
They also said this event is the biggest fundraiser for the George L. Carter Railroad Museum. The building is located on the ETSU campus and is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
