The Carter County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is facing several charges, ranging from theft of property to possession of drugs.
According to a police report from the department, deputies responded to the Dollar General in Roan Mountain in reference to a shoplifting call. Deputies learned the suspect, Jaqueshia Williams, was driving toward Hampton in a gold van.
After reviewing the surveillance video at the store, the deputy received a call that Williams had been stopped by another officer.
Once the deputy arrived, Williams was being arrested on “separate charges.”
According to the report, Williams “became irate” while the officer read her Miranda Rights, Williams reportedly said, “I’m not going to listen to you.”
A female officer then arrived on scene to search Williams, when the suspect reportedly started to verbally harass the female officer, allegedly saying she was going to “beat her a** for lying.”
According to the police report, officers were unable to find any missing items, but did find Williams in possession of a five oval shape pills, a glass pipe, six straws, and a “little blue bag.”
Williams is being charged with Schedule IV drug violations, retaliation for past action and shoplifting.
