The man accused of killing his mother earlier this month is due in court today.
Carter County native John Christopher Ralph is charged with first-degree murder after his mother Betty was found dead in her home on Reynolds Road in Elizabethton.
He is expected to appear in court for a status hearing and could find out if he can make bond. Ralph’s bond currently is set at $1 million.
Ralph was arrested at a Georgia airport earlier this month after he was caught trying to leave the country.
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation handled the case of capturing Ralph.
