BVU Authority confirms that mountainous terrain has caused delays to restore power to areas in Southwest Virginia.
According to a spokesperson, crews are currently out working bring power back to approximately 600 locations in Scott and Washington counties.
BVU is asking people to make alternative arrangements and that they are working to address the issue.
The original ETA of power being restored is today, but that has been postponed due to the delay.
The cause of the power outage is reportedly due to downed tree limbs on lines from recent storms.
