KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) —  According to a social media release, the Bloomingdale Fire Department received a call Thursday afternoon from a homeowner who had discovered a kitten that had fallen into a drain pipe.

The four-week-old “Pumper” was stuck approximately 10 feet underground in an eight-inch pipe.

Rescue Tech Ryan Anderson and Assistant Chief Tim Bradshaw were able to rescue the kitten by securing some rope around it and pulling it to safety.

“Pumper” was taken to a local veterinarian, and they are currently seeking a home for the kitten.
