Black mold test results for Sullivan North expected Tuesday

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Sullivan County school leaders expect to have test results back Tuesday after cleaning up black mold at a school.

School administrators said they found small amounts of black mold at Sullivan North Middle and High Schools.

Both schools were closed for two days for cleaning.

They re-opened for classes Monday.

Sullivan County School Board Chairman Michael Hughes told us Monday that the schools have been cleaned and the results will be in Tuesday.

Last week – a former teacher at Sullivan North High School told us that he took ceiling tiles from the building and sent them for testing, tests that he says came back positive.

That teacher said he resigned because he got sick when he entered the building.

Director of Schools Evelyn Rafalowski did not want to comment on the mold testing when we asked Monday night.
