2 local veterans to be honored during statewide Memorial Day service


Tennessee will host it’s annual Memorial Day Service today, where Governor Bill Lee will honor 10 service members who died in the line of duty.

Two of them called our region home. 

Governor Lee will honor Seaman Second Class William Campbell of Elizabethton. 

The military believes Campbell was killed Dec. 7, 1941. 

He was not identified until 2018. 

The state will also remember Private First Class Lewis Price of Rogersville

He disappeared Nov. 6, 1944, while serving in World War II. He was also identified in 2018.
