Giants quarterback Daniel Jones found himself in a familiar setting during the team’s 30–12 loss to the 49ers on Thursday.

With a short-handed offensive line due to the absences of left tackle Andrew Thomas and left guard Ben Bredson, Jones struggled to establish consistency on offense and was flushed out of the pocket on multiple occasions while seeking to make plays.

In the final seconds of the first half with San Francisco holding a 17–3 advantage, the 49ers’ defense displayed a scheme that left the veteran quarterback seemingly puzzled at the line of scrimmage. What emerged was a video clip that served as the perfect depiction to describe the kind of night the former Duke standout was having.

NFL fans did not hold back in their criticism of Jones who faced a San Francisco defense that generated one turnover, two sacks and put New York in its third double-digit deficit in three weeks by halftime of Thursday’s game.
