Round one of the 24th annual East Tennessee Amateur golf tournament suspended due to rain

The 24th annual Carter Co. bank East Tennessee amateur golf tournament is underway, but mother nature didn’t make it easy for some of the best golfers in the area.

Golfers trying to get in as many holes as possible today. On the par 5, 5th former Hilltopper Garrett Whitfield the defending tournament champions shot from the fairway landing just off of the green and he’d end up two putting for a birdie…

Chris Guy not to be outdone, his 3rd shot from just off the green, can’t get much better than that just to the right of the cup and he’d tap it in for birdie as well.

But then, here comes the rain, thunder and lightning overhead sending everyone inside and the day was done. The tournament will continue at 8 a.m. Saturday with players picking up where there ball lies.
