Richlands holds on to defeat Madison Co. for the Class 2 softball state championship


In the class 2 softball championship Friday morning it was Richlands facing Madison Co. Richlands starter Mac Osborne cruising and struck out first eleven batters in order to finish the morning with 16.

In the fifth inning Richlands threatening again with a runner at third and the pitch gets away, Lauren Earls who was holding takes off when Madison throws it away and scores to give the Lady Blues 1-0 lead.

Seventh inning and Madison down to the final out when Emily Seale hits this pitch to third and that’s the ballgame.

It’s the Lady Blues who were dog-piling after this one… Madison’s season ends with a 1-0 loss in the state title game.
