Senior pitcher/outfielder Camron Harper has been selected as a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Conference second team and gold glove team to highlight the postseason awards for Milligan College’s 2019 baseball team.

Isaac Barkley rounded out the awards for Milligan with a spot on the AAC Champions of Character team. The AAC office announced the awards Tuesday.

A two-way player, Harper led Milligan (20-26, 11-16 AAC) in earned run average and wins while ranking No. 5 on the team in batting average, one of six Buffs to bat over .300 for the season. Harper hit nine doubles, drove in 18 runs and scored 32 times. Harper had one of the largest workloads in the nation as he ranked No. 38 in innings pitched per game (6.2).

Harper’s best start, perhaps of his career, came on senior day when he struck out eight in a nine-inning complete-game shutout where he helped pitch the Buffs into the playoffs. It marked Harper’s fourth complete game of the season and first shutout of his career. He did so allowing only six hits and no walks in the effort.

Harper finished the season with 53 strikeouts in 68 1/3 innings pitched.
