In conjunction with the Bristol Virginia Public School Board, it is with great pleasure that I announce the hiring of Mr. Kevin Wright, as the new boys head soccer coach, and Mr. Justin Hayden, as the new girls head soccer coach at Virginia High School. These individuals will replace Mr. Hunter Meade and Ms. Alex Gordon, respectively as they both left to pursue opportunities outside of BVPS.

Mr. Kevin Wright, graduated from Virginia High School in 2012. He went to attend and play soccer at King University, where he graduated Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history with a minor in education. He is currently employed as a teacher at Virginia HS. In addition to his playing experience, Mr. Wright, has coached several local club teams and has specialized in player development in the Tri-Cities area.

Mr. Justin Hayden, graduated from Tri-Cities Christian School. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from King College, where he also obtained his M. Ed. He was recently hired to teach math at Virginia Middle for the 2018-19 school. Prior to this appointment he taught and coached at Bluff City Middle. He also coached boys’ soccer at the high school level in Tennessee.

We are excited by the appointment of both of these individuals to lead the Bearcat Soccer programs for years to come. They both provide a variety of experience and bring organization, enthusiasm, and energy to their respective positions. The administration of Virginia High School is excited to see both Coach Wright, Coach Hayden, and their teams in action in the spring.
