GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) – With pride on the line, the David Crockett and Daniel Boone rivalry returns for the 53rd Annual Musket Bowl on Friday night.
ABC Tri-Cities and WJHL.com are bringing the game live to viewers starting at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live in this story.
Of the two Washington County legacy football teams Boone has won their last two matchups; the Trailblazers winning 35-7 last year.
In order to win the coveted musket, either team has to win three years of the matchup in a row.
The Pioneers head to Nathan Hale Stadium 1-1 on the season after a 28-13 win over Cherokee last week. The Trailblazers are still searching for their first victory of the season; Boone fell to West Ridge in a 26-18 loss last Friday.
Boone’s struggles at the start of the season come after a dominant 2022, during which the Trailblazers remained perfect through the regular season and didn’t taste defeat until the state quarterfinal.
Gates open at 5 p.m. ahead of the Musket Bowl.
Be sure to join Kenny Hawkins and Nick Dugan at 11 p.m. for Touchdown Friday Nights for final scores and highlights from across the Tri-Cities.
