The ETSU Buccaneers will host non-conference opponent Gardner-Webb for their annual homecoming game this Saturday.
After narrowly escaping conference-rival Chattanooga last weekend, the Bucs are now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The team is off to its best overall start since 1999.
Here’s what you need to know ahead of Saturday’s homecoming game:
The game has been designated a “Blue Out.” Fans are asked to wear blue ETSU gear.
The game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. at William B. Greene Jr. Stadium in Johnson City.
As of Saturday morning, tickets are still available. They can be purchased online or at the ticket gate. Single-game tickets start at $25.
Game day forecast
Sunny and hot this afternoon, with isolated showers possible mainly over the mountains. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper-80s by kickoff. It will gradually cool off, but temps will still probably be around 80 degrees by the end of the game.
How to watch & listen
Saturday’s game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Our own Kasey Marler will report from the sidelines. ESPN+ requires a subscription ($4.99/month or $49.99/year), however a 7-day free trial is offered.

The Buccaneer Sports Network will provide coverage on WXSM-AM 640 and affiliate station 104.9 FM NASH ICON. Pre-game coverage will begin at 2 p.m.

For Saturday’s homecoming game, there will be a Pepsi Live Stage and Ford Super Screen in Lot 21. There will be live performances by Wyldeheart and Folk South Revival starting at noon.
The Buc Walk will begin at 1:15 p.m.
Campus parking lots will open at 8 a.m. for tailgating on game day.

Clear bag policy/enhanced security
ETSU has a clear bag policy for all home football games inside William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium. In addition, new security procedures including metal detectors and security wands will be employed at entry gates. Please arrive early to insure access to your seats before kickoff. The ETSU men’s basketball team will hold an open practice at 11:30 a.m. Saturday inside the Center for Physical Activity (CPA) building. Fans are invited to come watch.
Also, ETSU volleyball will host Furman at 8 p.m. Saturday. The game will take place inside Brooks Gym. Volleyball games are free and open to the public. Fans who bring their football ticket to the game will be entered to win two sideline passes to the ETSU-Western Carolina football game on October 27.
Gardner-Webb is in the Big South conference. The university is located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
The Runnin’ Bulldogs have a 1-4 record so far this season. After defeating Limestone 52-17 in their season opener, the team lost their next four games, including losses to SoCon teams Wofford (45-14) and Western Carolina (28-10).
Last year, Gardner-Webb finished the season with a 1-10 record.
