Elizabethon Cyclones expected to ask TSSAA to move up from 3-A to 4-A

ELIZABETHTON — News Channel 11 sports has learned tonight that the Elizbathton Cyclones will ask the TSSAA to move from 3-A to 4-A classification.

Tuesday night News channel 11 sports spoke with Elizabethton director of schools Dr. Corey Gardenhour and he explained the move was based on fan experience and better competition in 4-A.

The move would put the Cyclones in the same conference as Greeneville, Sullivan South, Sullivan East, Cherokee and others…That would also make travel for the fans shorter and put them in better stadiums and arenas.

Gardenhour, says they hope to keep out of conference schools like Science Hill, Tennessee High and Daniel Boone on the schedule.

They have until the 25th of October to inform the TSSAA of their plans.
