JONESBOROUGH, TN-The Bucs retained their lead on the second day of the 21st annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club on Saturday, putting together a round of nine-under-par 279. They’ll take a two-stroke lead over Kent State into Sunday’s final round.
The Bucs were led by Geuntae Kim’s (Daegu, South Korea) five-under-par 67. ETSU’s Shiso Go (Kanagawa, Japan) seized sole control of the individual lead when his 68 left him at 131, 13 under par.
Go, who opened with a tournament record-tying 63 on Friday, leads by three strokes over East Carolina’s Blake Taylor, who shot his second 67. Go will be trying to become the third ETSU player to win medalist honors, joining Rhys Davies (2005 and 2006) and Adrian Meronk (2015).
Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.), Trevor Hulbert (Orlando, Fla.) and Dhaivat Pandya (Dayton, Ohio) all posted 72s for ETSU in the second round.
Sunday’s final round begins at 8:30 a.m., with the Bucs going out at 10:10.
