Many DI basketball teams have begun releasing their schedules for next season, but the Bucs are not one of them.
Since Steve Forbes has taken over the ETSU program, teams have been Leary of coming to ETSU. Iinstead, the Bucs have racked up the miles, traveling to Kentucky and Xavier last season, along with trips to Villanova, Dayton and Mississippi State the year prior.
The last power 5 school that came to Freedom hall was Tennessee and following that close game, Rick Barnes made it clear that while he is at the helm, they would not be coming back. That seems to be the case for most large programs, not wanting to face the possibility of an upset in Johnson City.
“You know we are at Creighton, we’re at UTEP and at some point at the Sun Bowl classic against Wyoming and then probably UTEP,” said Forbes. “At Ga. State and at Georgia So. and as you noticed I said at, at, at. I have not said anything about being at home. We have some things we are working on, but a couple of years ago I went all the way to September thinking we had Florida Gulf Coast playing and they backed out on us. So until I can get it in writing, especially on home games, who knows.”
