Bristol Motor Speedway responds to AP article highlighting low attendance at April race

Officials at Bristol Motor Speeway are urging the community to come out to the August night race following an Associated Press article highlighting the low attendance issue at NASCAR races.

“We had a great spring race weekend and our team takes great pride in providing an incredible at-track experience for our guests and creating wow moments. When the national spotlight shines on this region again on August 15 – 17 we ask each and every one of you to show your support for NASCAR. As the second largest sports stadium in America, we need everyone in the region to support this iconic facility as we entertain guests from around the world and put on the best racing that NASCAR has to offer.” – Bristol Motor Speedway

The Associated Press article stems from a tweet by NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer, who talked about hotel prices in the Tri-Cities region during race weekend.
