Washington County, Tenn. school board member appears in court

News

A Washington County, Tennessee school board member who was arrested for the second time in less than a month appeared in court Monday.

David Hammond was arrested last week for violating an order of protection.

Today, he waived a preliminary hearing for an assault charge he was arrested for back in March. He is accused of assaulting his former girlfriend…an accusation he denies.

A grand jury will now review the assault case.

Hammond is scheduled to appear in court again on July 31.
