VA to hold ceremony for 50th anniversary of Vietnam War

MOUNTAIN HOME (WJHL) – The Mountain Home VA Medical Center will hold a “Welcome Home” ceremony for Vietnam War veterans Friday, March 25.

According to a VA news release, the ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the VA Medical Center Conference Center, building 200, Room A-061-K.

During the program, Vietnam veterans will receive a commemorative Vietnam War pin.

“Our nation’s Vietnam War commemoration is a long-overdue opportunity for all American to recognize, honor, and thank our Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifices during one of America’s longest wars,” VA Secretary Bob McDonald said.

The ceremony will recognize all men and women who served in the armed forces during the U.S involvement in Vietnam from Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
