A trial date was set this week for a Morristown man charged in the 2014 shooting death of a Rogersville woman and the attempted murder of her daughter.
Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office investigators charged Darries Leon Jackson, 56, Morristown, with first-degree murder in the death of Bennie E. Bowlin of Tuggle Hill Road, Rogersville.
Bowlin was found shot to death in her kitchen floor on Oct. 25, 2014.
Investigators also found Bowlin’s daughter, Kathy Ramos, of Morristown, had been shot shortly after her mother.
Jackson was charged with Bowlin’s murder and additionally with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated child endangerment and reckless endangerment.
Jackson appeared in Hawkins County Criminal Court on Friday, where his bond was set at $750,000 and a trial date was scheduled for February 2016.Copyright WJHL 2015. All rights reserved.
