The Band Perry to perform ahead of Battle at Bristol

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Band Perry, a country group consisting of siblings, are set to perform at the Bristol Motor Speedway ahead of Battle at Bristol, Friday night.

As many country fans know, Kimberly Perry, Reid Perry and Neil Perry all hail from Greeneville, Tennessee.

“It was really cool to see the development of this whole event,” said Neil Perry. “We were asked to sing about a year ago and to see all the preparations come together and the giant screen they’ve put up is pretty impressive.”

The Band Perry will be accompanied by country music star Kenny Chesney when they take the stage Friday night.

“We haven’t gotten to do a show with Kenny Chesney yet,” said Kimberly Perry. “He’s another East Tennessee boy so there’s just a lot of East Tennessee love.”

The Band Perry reached prominence after their 2010 song “If I Die Young” hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Country Songs chart. The bands self-titled debut album has been certified quadruple platinum.

Over fifty-thousand people are expected to be in attendance for Friday night’s show.
