Superintendent Dr. Richard Bales to retire from Johnson City Schools

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Schools’ Dr. Debra Bentley confirmed that Dr. Richard Bales will retire from his position as the school system’s superintendent sometime after this school year.

The Johnson City School Board voted to release Bales from his contract Monday night.

Bales will retired from the state of Tennessee after 12 years with the Johnson City public school system.
