SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL)- Sullivan County Commissioner John Crawford narrowly defeats Bristol, Tenn. Mayor Chad Keen for Tennessee’s District 1 State Representative seat in GOP primary.

Crawford won 51 percent of the votes, with Keen drawing 49 percent.

Both Keen and Crawford ran on the Republican ticket.

There are no Democratic rivals in this race so at the end of Thursday night’s primary election Crawford will gain the title of District 1 State Representative.

The current District 1 State Representative Jon Lundberg ran for state senate and won Thursday night.

Crawford is in his tenth year of service as a Sullivan County commissioner.

Keen and Crawford have previously been in the spotlight as each candidate accused their opponent of not running a fully clean campaign. Here’s a previous article: http://wp.me/p5Mgcn-MaLCopyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
