WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – Washington County, Va. Sheriff Fred Newman confirmed to News Channel 11 that the county had its first report of a clown sighting Monday night.

According to Newman, the sighting occurred on Conner Lane near High Point Elementary School off of Sinking Creek Road in Bristol, Va. between 7:45 and 8 p.m.

Newman said two siblings — a brother and a sister — reported the sighting of the clown in a nearby field.

The pair told deputies the clown was dressed in black, had white around the eyes, had a red nose and purple hair.

Deputies searched the area for about an hour, but did not find anything.

Newman said he would be placing additional patrols in that area.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
