CHATTANOOGA, TN (WJHL)- Over the weekend we learned a missing Gatlinburg man and his wife were killed during the Brussels terror attacks last week. The couple had lived in Brussels since 2014.
Sunday morning U.S. Senator Bob Corker released a statement.
The full statement from Senator Corker is below:
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Justin and Stephanie Shults in the terror attacks in Brussels,” said Corker. “To their family members and to all who loved them, we offer our prayers and deepest sympathies as we mourn their passing. We also extend condolences to all of the families who lost loved ones and to the people of Belgium.”
“From Chattanooga, to Paris, San Bernardino, Brussels, and beyond, we have seen unimaginable events unfold before our eyes,” added Corker. “It is clear that the fight against this evil will be a long-term struggle. To protect our citizens, we must deepen our partnership with Europe and other allies to defeat ISIS and other terror groups.”
