Emmy® nominated journalist Sara Diamond anchors WJHL’s evening newscast. She joined WJHL in December 2001 as weekend anchor.

Sara began her career at KGAN in her hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She then moved on to KACB (now KSAN) in San Angelo,Texas, KOTV in Tulsa, then back in San Angelo at KLST. Sara’s broadcasting career has taken her on many different adventures. She has donned fire fighting gear and struggled through obstacles of the ‘Firemen’s Challenge’ and twisted her insides in an L-29 Delphin military jet.

In 2010, she was nominated for Emmy® award for Interactivity. Sara sat in on a Carotid Stent Procedure and sent tweets to viewers, educating them about the procedure, and passing along comments from both the doctor and the patient. The highlight of the Tweet cast was talking to the patient’s son who lived in Michigan, and passing messages between father and son.

Sara is very active in the Tri-Cities community. She is a founding board member of the Tri-Cities Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and also sits on the board for the Heisse Johnson Hand Up and SteppenStone Youth Treatment Services organizations. Sara is also involved with the March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network, CASA, and many more organizations

Sara graduated with a Communications degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

She and her husband Marty, a retired professional hockey player, have a son and daughter and a lovable Great Dane, Thunder.
